Mark Van Beers
Director / Weathertightness Specialist
Having 25 years practical experience as a builder, Mark transitioned into the inspection industry in 2009 after realising that there was a need for independent and qualified inspectors in Queenstown. Mark prides himself on his comprehensive approach to every inspection he undertakes.
Mark is a Weathertightness Specialist, Licensed Building Practitioner, Certified Infrared Thermographer, Trade Certified Builder and is an Executive Committee Member of the New Zealand Institute of Building Inspectors (NZIBI). Mark’s extensive experience, qualifications and friendly personality helps any buyer or seller feel well informed at a time that can potentially be stressful.
Mike Busby
Registered Building Inspector
Mike started with Smart Building Inspections in 2024. With over 20 years experience in the construction industry and more recently the inspection industry, Mike brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise with him which is valuable and necessary for the services we offer.
Mike is a Registered Building Inspector (NZIBI), Licensed Building Practitioner and a Trade Certified Builder. Mike predominantly focuses on pre-purchase and pre-sale building inspections plus Healthy Homes Assessments.
Andrae Van Beers
Director / Operations Manager
Andrae’s background is predominantly within the real estate and property management industries. Having over 15 years experience in Property Management both in Australia and New Zealand, Andrae settled in Queenstown in 2001 and enjoyed the challenge of managing Queenstown’s largest and most successful property management company for a period of six years.
Since this time, Andrae has worked alongside Mark in creating and establishing Smart Building Inspections. Andrae’s role is at the helm and involves overseeing the day to day operations of the business.
